The Secretary of the City Council announced that the monumentā€™s creator is Katib Mammadov, an Honorary Citizen of Kharkiv and a renowned sculptor.

ā€œToday marks a significant event in Kharkiv. We are unveiling the first monument in Ukraine to the philosopher and poet Nizami Ganjavi. Residents of Kharkiv and guests from Azerbaijan have gathered here, which once again proves that Kharkiv is a multicultural city where we support each other and work together for a better future.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to creating this monument and improving this park area. I am grateful that Azerbaijan chose our city to honor this great individual,ā€ Ihor Terekhov emphasized.
