Tragedy in Khojaly: Honoring the Memory of the Victims

On the night of February 25–26, 1992, in the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly, events unfolded that became one of the most painful chapters in the region’s history.

As a result of an attack carried out by armenian military forces, hundreds of civilians perished, predominantly women, children, and elderly individuals.

The events, which lasted less than a day, resulted in mass casualties and destruction. Eyewitness accounts describe inhumane conditions faced by the town’s residents, who were forced to flee under continuous shelling.

Today, we honor the memory of the innocent victims, paying tribute to their resilience and dignity in the face of unspeakable cruelty.

Despite the years that have passed, this tragedy underscores the need to preserve historical truth and prevent the recurrence of such crimes in the future.
