3 May 2019 new Kharkiv-Baku flight launched
Azerbaijani airline Buta Airways operated its first flight to/from Kharkiv Airport on Friday, May 3.
A ceremonial event was held at the International Airport "Kharkiv" to welcome the first Baku-Kharkiv flight of Buta Airways.
Representatives of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration and the Kharkiv City Council, the Honorary Consulate of Azerbaijan, leaders of Azerbaijani national-cultural associations, media, and the general public of the Kharkiv region participated in the ceremony.
This flight connected another Ukrainian city with the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. Kharkiv became the second Ukrainian city served by Buta, which already operates flights to Kyiv's Zhulyany Airport.
Flights will be conducted twice a week - on Tuesdays and Fridays using Embraer E190 aircraft, but there are prospects for daily operations in the future.
The launch of Kharkiv-Baku and Baku-Kharkiv flights will contribute to expanding cooperation between our countries.
It is also worth noting that from May 16, the airline will start flights to Odessa. The low-cost carrier plans to fly there twice a week as well - on Thursdays and Sundays.
