In Kyiv, on Druzhby Narodiv Boulevard, an official ceremony was held to unveil the monument to thinker and poet Imadaddin Nasimi, which reflects the profound artistic and philosophical ideas of the Azerbaijani people with centuries-old traditions.
The unveiling of the monument to Imadaddin Nasimi took place as part of the celebration of Kyiv Day and on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijanā€™s international diplomacy.

The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko, the Mayor of Baku Eldar Aziz oglu Azizov, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine, Azer Khudiyev.
According to Vitaliy Klitschko, Ukraine and Azerbaijan have always been strategic partners, and Kyiv and Baku have been sister cities since 1997. The capitals cooperate in the areas of infrastructure development, industry, culture, and tourism. A year ago, a park named after Muslim Magomayev was opened in Kyiv, where hundreds of trees have been planted at the initiative of the Embassy and with the support of the Azerbaijan Trade House in Ukraine, the mayor reminded.

Head of the executive authority of Baku, Eldar Azizov, said that it was Heydar Aliyev who contributed to the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, and today President Ilham Aliyev continues this policy successfully.

ā€œThe construction of the statue of Shevchenko in Baku, the establishment of the monument to the national leader Heydar Aliyev in Kyiv, Muslim Magomayev, and now Imadaddin Nasimi are vivid examples of the friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries,ā€ Eldar Azizov added.
The Mayor of Baku also noted that the strategic relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine will continue.
Later that evening, a festive event dedicated to the Republic Day of Azerbaijan was held in Kyiv.
