On March 13, 2017, a meeting was held in Kyiv between Ukraine's Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev, during which the parties agreed to expand interstate cooperation in various fields.
Shahin Mustafayev also noted that Azerbaijan is interested in establishing joint machine-building enterprises with Ukraine and increasing interstate interaction in agriculture, the chemical industry, and tourism.
Azerbaijan and Ukraine can expand cooperation in the areas of trade, machine building, chemical and food industries, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, production of construction materials, and agro-processing, as well as the possibility of expanding transit connections. In turn, Azerbaijan invites Ukrainian entrepreneurs to invest in industrial and agro-parks.
Also on this day, with the organizational support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine, the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Fund (AZPROMO), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, and with the participation of the Union of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists of Azerbaijan and Ukraine led by Ali Aliyev, a Ukrainian-Azerbaijani business forum was held.
During the business forum, Shahin Mustafayev noted that currently, there are 116 companies with Ukrainian capital operating in Azerbaijan. According to the minister, nearly 130 documents have been signed between the two countries, including a joint declaration on strategic partnership. The Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan emphasized that both countries have great opportunities for cooperation in the areas of agriculture, industry, and trade.
At the end of the business forum, AZPROMO and the Confederation of Azerbaijani Entrepreneurs signed memorandums of cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine.
